How Offley Place Can Be Your Venue for All Seasons
Excellent, so you’ve settled on Offley Place as your wedding venue, but you’re still unsure on when you actually want to get married. Our venue is perfect throughout the year, come rain or shine, why don’t you take a read and see how you can have your perfect day in any season.
A popular time for weddings for a reason, it’s warm enough for outdoor photos but not too hot that you’ll be sweating off all your makeup. A March or April wedding at Offley Place will cost you less than a summer wedding and dates are more readily available.
So what can you do to make Offley Place the perfect setting for your spring wedding? Pastel pinks, yellows and green make the perfect soft, spring colour palette, with flowers such as peonies, daisies and tulips being a flawless option for bouquets and decor. One of our favourite decor themes for spring is the idea of bringing outside in, this involves lots of in-season flowers and greenery for table centrepieces and decor. Our exposed brick and pale green Conservatory perfectly compliments a rustic, spring decor and the skylights and gleaming chandeliers of the Hester Ballroom really open the space to keep it as light as possible.
Outdoor ceremonies in Offley’s 27-acre parkland are possible in the Spring but we recommend having a plan B just in case of some unlucky weather. For this, our Manor House Conservatory will make for an ideal location. Following the ceremony, the Hester Ballroom as your reception location gives ample space for dancing the spring night away!
Now for the dress- you want to be comfortable yet stylish and this means ensuring you’re warm enough all day. Flowing, lace designs are perfect for a spring wedding, lace long sleeves will provide enough warmth whilst looking extremely elegant. Pastel bridal party dresses, to match your flowers and decor, will keep in with a light and airy, spring theme.
Long, hot summery days, the ideal for any wedding day and we can see why! An outdoor ceremony on our grounds, a reception in the Hester Ballroom with the doors open wide so your guests can enjoy everywhere. A long strapless dress with detailing to keep you cool in the midday sun, styled with effortless curls and strappy heels.
Bright oranges and pinks make for an eye-catching seasonal theme, with gardenias, snapdragons and chrysanthemums bringing summery florals to the decor. A golden hour photo shoot in the Rose Garden and in the parkland will be the perfect addition to your wedding album and a marquee or tipi tent set up outside will make a lovely, rustic touch. In terms of food, an outdoor summer BBQ served by our chefs, followed by an evening snack buffet will keep your guests well fed.
We’ve had previous Offley Place couples with some wonderful summer touches such as a gin and bubbles stall outside for refreshment, outdoor entertainment such as steel drums for an exotic vibe, or ice cream trucks as a refreshing sweet treat.
Definitely a more forgotten season for weddings, summer has ended, children are back at school, the weather is getting colder. However, with Offley Place as your backdrop, you can create a wonderful autumnal masterpiece for your special day. Looking to nature for your colour scheme here is the way to go, rust, navy’s, greys, greens and purples are the perfect tones for a rustic palette. Carnation, dahlias and lisianthus make brilliant additions to wedding bouquets, meanwhile, leaves, moss and bark are brilliant table centrepieces. Warmer dress styles with higher cuts and longer sleeves maybe your friends here, with fur shrugs being cute and cosy.
Fireworks are fantastic evening entertainment for your guests and sparklers make for unique wedding photos. Seasonal foods such as roasted vegetables and warming meats should be on the menu, with mulled wines and ciders being a tasty option for behind the bar.
A festive, winter wonderland wedding is one of our favourites here at Offley Place. Our Manor House fireplaces, warm red tones of the Salusbury lounge and seasonal rose garden make for the perfect winter wedding. A ceremony in the conservatory decorated followed by reception drinks in the lounges is guaranteed to keep your guests warm and comforted on a chilly winter day. Red roses, Poinsettias, Orchids and Narcissus are the perfect flowers to complement a darker colour-themed wedding with reds and navys. Candles are a brilliant wedding decoration here as they add to the cosy atmosphere. Signature, winter wedding flavours are a nice touch, why Tony you discuss with your wedding coordinator about having a special winter cocktail on the menu for your guests?
