Olive & Millicent are a wedding stationery and calligrapher supplier that owner Katy runs from her design studio from her home in Hitchin, Hertfordshire.
Katy trained in designed and always had a flair for everything creative, her love for all this wedding design was ignited when one of her best friends asked her to design some pieces for her wedding day. Katy loved it so much and hasn’t looked back a day since!
Katy’s passion lies in using her skills in hand painting stationary designs and calligraphy to help couples with the finer details of their wedding, allowing them to have some truly unique and individual touches to their wedding day.
Katy loves the idea of using her creative skills to produce artwork that can be treasured and stay in a family history for years to come.
She is a romantic at heart so loves celebrating all things love, hence the specialism in weddings! She finds them such happy occasions and such a huge and important milestone in peoples lives to be a part of! Her favourite wedding moment is the anticipation of seeing the couple for the first time, she says you can really feel the excitement in the room and it can be a really emotional time!
When asked to give some wedding planning advice to our couples, Katy says to make sure that you have the wedding you want as a couples, rather than what your friends and family want you to do. In terms of stationary,
always order spares of your invitations, just in case! Make sure to factor the cost of postage into your budget (it’s easy to miss and it definitely adds up!). plan your day stationary well in advance to avoid any last minute stress (Katy usually books couples in 8 weeks before their wedding day).

- When should we send our save the dates and invitations?
I usually advise sending save the dates out 10-12 months before the wedding and then invitations between 3-6 months before.
2. How long should we give guests to RSVP?
You should speak to your venue about their deadline for guest numbers but I’d usually recommend giving guests around 4 weeks to RSVP.
3. How long does it take to create invitations?
I have three different design options, all with varying lead times but the shortest lead time is up to 4 weeks and the longest is up to 10 weeks, so make sure to factor that in when it comes to booking.
4. How do I get a quote?
I have a price list on my website but if you’d like a more custom quote, you can email me and we can go from there.
